When my husband and I lived in Alaska, we spent the weekends at a cabin we built along the Ninilchik River, within sight of the Mt. Redoubt Volcano and across the waters of the Cook Inlet. I’ve talked about it before. It was a place filled with serenity, and…………an electric palm tree.
We would put the tree up for Christmas, because we were there only during the weekends, and it made us smile. We would turn out the lights, snuggle on the sofa in front of the wood stove, and enjoy the sparkle lights of the tree. I hung tiny, stuffed flamingos from the branches for ornaments.
I tell you this now, because my darling husband just bought me an electric palm tree.
Now THAT’s true love. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. As soon as he plugged it in, I couldn’t stop smiling. And my daughter grabbed the Kermit the Frog that I keep in my kitchen window, and wound his arms and legs around the trunk. PERFECT! You know, sometimes, a palm tree can be better medicine that the one I am taking – Both of them combined? Priceless.
The full knee replacement surgery went well. Today is day six, so the leg is feeling swollen, tender, and various colors of the rainbow – an alien rainbow. Dark purple, bright greens, blues………The body’s way of entertaining itself during the healing process. And I am doing good. I start my Physical Therapy sessions tomorrow, so I am not looking forward to that at all, because I want a few more days of being pampered, waited upon, and spoiled beyond belief. I am a simple woman, with simple tastes – ANY bit of spoiling will do. My husband has been an angel through it all.

Thank you so much for the beautiful kits Sunny! I always look forward to them. 😀 Just to let you know when I clicked on Marniejo’s link for the Scrap Twist contribution, it automatically went to an ad for ” Dedicated Servers” and there was not any time in which to notify Marniejo directly. If you are able to contact her about it I’m sure everyone would appreciate it, including me! If not, then hopefully at some point she will catch it herself. You take care of that knee and loved the electric palm tree and Kermie! I keep a cat on my lamp by my chair in the living room. Somehow it just feels right, kind of like a ‘pick me up and get in a good mood’ type of thing, know what I mean? Hugs, Vicki Garrett

Thank you so much for your contribution to the Scrap Twist Blog Train. I don’t know how you were able to do it with your knee surgery. My husband had his 2nd knee done last fall, he is doing much better after 4 months. Hang in there it does get better. Thanks again for the goodies. I especially love the soft plaids!

Thank you so much for these lovely kits!! My goodness, I don’t know how anyone survives in Alaska .. I hate the cold. A couple of weeks ago it was 47deg C (112deg F) here in South Australia ..a bit extreme, but I still prefer the heat 🙂 Hope your knee continues to improve! My house is full of stuffed toys .. mainly Winnie The Pooh characters!! You are never too old for WTP 🙂
