November ’17 Blog Hop

Enchanted Autumn
Location:  Rush Ranch – Eastern Oregon
Wx:  Fall, cool and clear

I have made a personal decision and will no longer be posting scrapbooking designs in the Pixel Scrapper’s “The Commons”, nor will I participate in their Designer Forums.    Not because of anything going on over at the Pixelscrapper community – No.  The folks there are helpful, nurturing and kind.  Really good to me.  Simply,  I have reached a personal turning point in my life where I want to do something different with the majority of my time. Walking a different path.  (Alright Lord, you can stop pushing now……)  When I design in the future – and I will continue to design –  I will be posting my designs here on this blog.   If you subscribe to my blog, you will always be alerted to a new download.  As always, my designs shall be free to download, and may be used as you wish, including CU4CU.  I simply ask that you do a kindness for someone you come across, in the future.

Things here on the ranch are gearing up for winter.  Fruit trees are being trimmed, New hay stored in the barn.  Garden and flower beds being cleaned up.  Tractors being moved into storage.  It may sound pretty straight-forward, but there is always a glitch somewhere.  This fall’s glitch is a result of the garden shovel hitting the windshield of the truck.  Windshield replacement has now been scheduled.  Apparently someone I am married to was putting his tools out on a pallet to clean and oil them before storage, but forgot that the handles stuck out to the side of the pallet, as he drove by them.  He ran over the handle of the shovel and it broke and the metal spade flew up in the air and came down on the windshield.  I ran outside and hugged him, because I knew that he would be upset with himself about it.  You never grouch at a good man, when he is down.  Here is a photo of the crack looking from inside the truck and up into the sky…….

Crack
I have a scrapbooking question for you – do you use any of those borders that I make with the curved backgrounds, clustered with flowers and leaves?  Or, would you just rather have the clusters themselves?

The Blog Hop colors were a real challenge for a lot of our designers, only because the colors and the theme didn’t seem to be compatible.  “Elegant Autumn”, with not a single rust, burgundy, gold, brown, red…………
palette

As usual, everyone seemed to make it work.  That’s the thing that really energizes creativity, being tasked with ideas that are outside of the norm.  I hope that you will find something you can use in my kit for this Blog Hop.  By the way, I have two previews for the elements, but there is only one download needed for them.

  2. Beautiful as always Sunny! Love those gorgeous papers, and your take on the theme.
I will miss your designs at Pixel Scrapper, but made sure I was signed up for your newsletter! May God continue to guide you along your new path. I personally love the cluster borders. I do a monthly family calendar, and I often find myself using one of your cluster borders along the side. That is such a shame about the truck windshield, but what an amazing picture!

  3. Beautiful gift, thank you so very much! Sorry you will leave PS, but I do understand and will still be looking forward to your newsletter and gifts that you will make! I adore your work! I do like the borders and I do like the clusters you make as well! Your work is always classy! Sorry your hubby broke the windshield, but better that than if the handle had flown up and hit him instead! Thanks again for all you so generously share with us! Have a most wonderful November, we have so much to be THANKFUL for! Hugs, Mat

  4. I will sooooo miss you on PS! Because I look for you every day. But I follow you and will look each day on your beautiful blog. You are so special, and I love all your work (except feather flowers LOL! I just place one of your realistic floweres over them and am happy as a bed bug)!! Keep those feather flowers coming for your other friends who love them.

I love your borders and use them all the time. Clusters are nice, too. Element and papers blow me away! I love all the little details you add to your work. Thanks, Lady! God bless you. I wish you did stuff for bible journaling, too.

  5. You have outdone yourself again Sunny. This kit is gorgeous and I can hardly wait to use it. I love your borders and also love clusters so how to answer? Hmmm.
When first looking at your photo I thought it very interesting and was trying to figure out what it was. A broken window! Oh no! I absolutely loved that your response was to run out and hug your honey. You are such an inspiration. God bless you and yours.

  6. I use all the items you make. I do like other items besides just clusters because then I can make my own clusters. Sorry about your windshield but on the plus side that photo of it would make an awesome background.

  7. These are just lovely. I only make cards for personal use and as gifts, I enjoy the clusters although I use the borders as well. Now that I am retired I am reorganizing the “craft room” and would like to begin digital scrapbooking. I have photos from my mom’s family that go back to the turn of the century (1900) and would like to put together digital scrapbooks for family.

    • Sounds wonderful, to have those lovely photographs to scrapbook. An amazing legacy. And congratulations on the retirement – a fantastic milestone to reach, you deserve that craft room time. Let me know if you need anything special for your legacy pages!

  11. Good morning Sunny, I love all your work! I would prefer the Clusters themselves… The photo of the broken glass looks amazing, I bet you could create something with it.

  15. Thank goodness it was only a cracked windscreen 🙂 I expect he was feeling pretty cross with himself. Thank you for your designs – lovely as always. I have to say regarding your question that the answer is “It depends”. Generally speaking I prefer single items to clusters as I get more use out of them.

  16. Beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing! Looking at that photo all I could think was “thank God for strong glass!!” That would have been very nasty had it come through into the cabin 😦 As for your question, where as I love clusters, I sometimes wish that I had the individual elements, as the placement of elements can rule out certain photos that might look really fabulous in the cluster, but it just doesn’t fit 🙂

  17. H Sunny,
After reading your blog posts, I feel like I know you. I’m saddened to hear about your Pixel Scrapper decision but I will continue to follow you. So glad the windshield glass didn’t completely break. Your husband is so lucky to have such a wonderful lady to love him. I love the clusters and the borders; I often use them both since I’m not really good at creating my own. You always have the most wonderful designs and thankfully, you share them with all of us.

  18. As others have said, I’m sad about the Pixel Scrapper decision, but am glad you will continue to post here! I’m in SE Washington, so whenever I read your blog I wonder where in eastern Oregon you are! I’m in the Tri-Cities, if that helps. Thanks again, so much, and hugs to your hubby!!

Whatever new direction you turn in, whatever it is that is calling to you, know you have made people here in digiland happy to have made your aquaintance. We will enjoy hearing about your new adventures should you choose to share them with us. Hugs!
